Hadhramaut: STC militias kidnap prominent leader of southern revolutionary movement

HADHRAMOUT, Sept. 2 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)   militias on Tuesday kidnapped a member of the political bureau of the “Revolutionary Movement” Ali Bin Shuhnah, in Hadhramaut province.

According to a statement issued by the Council of the Revolutionary Movement in Hadhramaut, elements of the STC’s Militias kidnapped the deputy head of the “revolutionary movement” in the province, Ali Bin Shuhnah, while performing noon prayers at al-Rawda Mosque in Al-Mukalla.

The abduction came after the STC militias carried out a large deployment of armoured vehicles and pickups to prevent a demonstration by supporters of the “revolutionary movement,” the statement read.

The statement considered the abduction as  savage act marred by fear and panic from a peaceful demonstration in commemoration of the so-called “Southern Army Day”, in which the first member of the “Southern Movement”, Salah al-Qahum was killed , as he was demanding of basic services such as water and electricity which has been lost  in Mukalla city, and in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The “revolutionary movement” condemned the brutal and non-civil acts against citizens for demonstrating to express their opinions.

The statement called for the immediate and unconditional release of the movement  leader Ali Bin Shuhanh stressing that they would not calm down or rest “until he is released from his arbitrary detention”.
