Haniyeh: The decision of the resistance is to continue to end the siege

SANAA, Aug. 30 (YPA) – Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas’ political bureau has confirmed that decision of resistance and Palestinian people is going on to end the unjust Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip in all its forms, According to Al-Mayadeen.

Haniyeh said, in a statement, that he main problem is the occupation and its intransigence and refusal to deal with the just demands of the Palestinian people,” calling on the United Nations to “shoulder its responsibilities to stand with the people of the Gaza Strip and to oblige the occupation to ending their suffering.”

The statement stressed that the movement’s presidency is actively monitoring the current situation in the Gaza Strip in terms of communications and mediation by many parties in the framework of efforts to break the siege of the Gaza Strip.

“The head of the movement confirms his confidence in the Egyptian role, the Qatari role and the effort sought by Ambassador Mohammed al-Amadi as part of mediation efforts,” the statement read, noting that “the movement and its leadership, especially in the Gaza Strip, are making contacts and efforts to achieve the will of the Palestinian people to end this siege and cleanse the Gaza Strip of its disastrous effects, especially with the entry of the Coronavirus into Gaza.”

Al-Mayadeen TV reported Sunday that the Israeli occupation had targeted a checkpoint east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis.
