STC militias send military reinforcements to Abyan

ABYAN, Aug 26 (YPA) –  The southern transitional council (STC) militias sent on Wednesday huge military reinforcements coming from Aden province arrived to Abyan province, southern Yemen, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources confirmed that military reinforcements of the so-called “Fifth Brigade” of the Southern Transitional, led by Brigadier General “Mukhtar al-Nubi”, arrived in Abyan, armed with various types of weapons and heavy and medium vehicles.

These military reinforcements come from the UAE’s Southern Transitional Council, following the Council’s announcement that it would suspend its participation in the consultations to implement the Riyadh Agreement and the other party’s failure to abide by the ceasefire.

Local sources had reported the outbreak of major clashes in Abyan and the fall of dozens of deaths and injuries from the Southern Transitional Council and the Islah militia, who controlled sensitive centers in Abyan.
