ABYAN, Aug. 26 (YPA) – Violent clashes renewed on Wednesday between the UAE-backed southern transitional Council (STC) and the Islah militants in Yemen’s southern province of Abyan, sources said.
The official said that the clashes resulted in death and wounding dozens of two sides.
Additionally, four military vehicles were seized by Islah militants during the clashes.
The sources added that the escalation came hours after the STC announced the suspension of its participation in the ongoing consultations to implement the so-called Riyadh Agreement.
