ADEN, Aug. 26 (YPA) -The UAE-backed separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC) suspended its participation in the so-called Riyadh agreement consultations, following the takeover of a number of military positions in the Shuqrah front in the occupied Province of Abyan by Hadi and Islah forces.
The escalation of the Muslim Brotherhoods militia in Abyan province killed and wounded 75 of the STC’s l fighters in a month, the STC said in a statement .
The STC confirmed that Hadi’s forces, along with al-Islah militias, brought hundreds of al-Qaeda and ISIS operatives and handed them over the brigades and military positions in Abyan province.
In the statement , the UAE- Backed Council complained that pensions and monthly salaries had not been paid for several months by Hadi’s government, as well as the continued forces of the so-called Legitimacy targeting civilians in Shabwah governorate, Hadhramaut Valley and Mahrah, with physical liquidations, repression, arrests, enforced disappearances and torture inside prisons.
The STC’s statement addressed the collapse of public services in the occupied southern provinces and the lack of any real remedies that touch the needs of the citizen.In addition, the currency continues to collapse, the lack of cash in the southern provinces, the inflation of the prices of goods and services, and the consequent tragic repercussions on the citizens.
