SANAA, Aug. 24 (YPA) – An explosion hit a major natural gas pipeline near the Syrian capital of Damascus early Monday, causing power outages across the country, according to state media.
The blast may have been the result of a terrorist attack, SANA cited Oil Minister Ali Ghanem saying.
Electricity Minister Mohammad Kharboutli said that the explosion occurred between Al-Dhumayr and Adra on the outskirts of Damascus countryside.
Activists on social media have circulated images of the explosion taken from different parts of the capital Damascus.
