Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi urges Gov’t to find solutions to dams’ issue

SANAA, Aug. 20 (YPA) – The Leader of Revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi on Thursday urged the government in Sanaa to work on finding solutions to the issue of water dams in all Yemeni governorates.

“The government is concerned with finding solutions to the issue of dams,” Sayyed Abdulmalik said in his televised speech on the occasion of the Prophet’s immigration memorial, adding that the current government cannot be held responsible for the negligence of previous governments.

He affirmed that the agricultural sector is important and vital and can represent a great support for the people in facing the blockade.

In his speech, the Revolution Leader called for official and popular cooperation to remove the damages that have resulted from the recent heavy rains and floods in Yemen.

“It is imperative that citizens cooperate with the state to deal with the damages of the torrents, and then much can be achieved in this area,” he said.

Sayyed Abdulmalik emphasized the importance of focusing on building dams as much as possible and with correct design to benefit from the blessing of rain effectively.

Large parts of Yemen witnessed during the current month unprecedented heavy rains, which caused great damage to buildings and dams throughout the provinces of the country.
