SANAA, Aug. 19 (YPA) – Four engineers from the Executive Center for Mine Action were injured as a result of the explosion of two bombs while they were removing the remnants of cluster bombs in Baran area in Nehm district of Sanaa province.
The Center stated Tuesday, in a statement, that a team was assigned to remove the remnants of cluster bombs dropped by Saudi-led aggression coalition’s aircraft from the vicinity of homes in the Bran area, at the request of citizens.
While the team was collecting these debris on Monday morning, two American-made bombs exploded, wounding four engineers, the center added.
The statement indicated that the Nehm district and large areas in the provinces of Jawf, Saada and others are filled with thousands of cluster bombs, which represent a threat to civilians.
The center revealed that there are more than six million cluster bombs from the remnants of the aggression coalition’s airstrikes, which portends a real catastrophe threatening the lives of citizens in roads, villages, valleys, and even near residential neighborhoods.
There are dozens of civilian casualties who are falling continuously in the provinces of Jawf and Saada, and Nehm district, due to cluster bombs, according to the statement.
