NMC warns from decline in horizontal visibility over next 24 hours

SANAA, Aug. 16 (YPA) – The National Meteorological Center warned on Sunday from the decline in the range of horizontal visibility due to the formation of fog and low clouds, and called on the civilians to be cautious about rock and mud slides on the roads over next hours.

In a weather forecast, the center expected the continuation of rainy weather accompanied by thunderstorms, and active winds includes parts of mountain heights from Saada to Lahj provinces and especially on Dhamar, Ibb, Rayma, Taiz and Dhalea provinces.

The center also pointed out to the possibility of rain spreading to the east to parts of the internal hills of Abyan, Shabwa and Hadramout governorates.

The monsoons are continuous around the Socotra archipelago and the east of the Gulf of Aden, and their speed reaches 45 knots, the center mentioned.

The center called on citizens to take shelter from thunderstorms and to not be in floods way, in order to preserve their safety and property.

The center also warned seagoers, ship masters, and fishermen from strong winds and sea turbulence in regional waters, around Socotra, in the southern and eastern coasts and west of the Gulf of Aden.
