India stops importing military equipment

SANAA, Aug 9 (YPA) – India announced on Sunday that it will stop importing military equipment from abroad in an attempt to increase its domestic armaments production.
Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said in a series of tweets that his country would stop importing 101 items of military equipment, noting that “the ban on imports will be gradually implemented between 2020 and 2024,” according to Reuters.

He explained that the list of items prohibited to purchase includes advanced weapons systems, artillery, sonar systems, transport aircraft and light combat helicopters,

Usually India buys arms from Russia, but is increasingly buying from the United States and the Zionist entity.

Military experts believe that India is short of combat aircraft, helicopters and field guns due to its low funding for purchases over the years.ee
