Al-Houthi calls for investigation into reasons for dams collapse

SANAA, Aug. 4 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council’s Member Mohammed Ali al-Houthi on Monday called on the authorities specialized in building dams to form committees to find out the reasons for the dams collapse, especially in the current rainy season in the capital Sanaa and its suburbs.

In a statement to media, al-Houthi said: “The competent authorities should know whether the damages incurred as a result of a technical defect resulting from a lack of implementation or that there are violations of the specifications.”

He continued, saying: “If the damages are due to a defect of implementation and specifications, the contractors, implementers and engineers must be held accountable quickly, and those found to be convicted will be blacklisted, in addition to taking legal action,” adding that this should include the roads as well.
