Senior tribal sheikh kidnapped in Socotra Island

SOCOTRA, July 27 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transition Council (STC) militias kidnapped on Monday one of senior tribal sheikhs in Socotra Island, sources said.

The sources affirmed that the STC militias arrested Nasser Affan, one of the tribal sheikhs loyal to Islah Party in the city of Hadibu, the capital of the island, and took him to one of secret prisons.

Meanwhile, the Socotra tribes held the STC militias full responsible for any harm and assault against Affan, calling on the STC to release him.

The STC militias carried out a campaign of arrests against many pro-Islah Party tribal, military, and security leaders after imposing the so-called ” autonomy ” on the island in last June.
