Foreign Minister expresses Yemen’s solidarity with Iran

SANAA, July 26 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Hisham Sharaf on Sunday expressed the solidarity of the Republic of Yemen with the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the interception of an Iranian passenger airliner by two American warplanes in Syrian airspace.

The Foreign Minister noted, in a letter he sent to his Iranian counterpart Dr. Muhammad Javad Zarif, that such a provocative act contradicts international conventions and norms, and constitutes a violation of international law and the 1971 Montreal Convention.

In the letter, Sharaf voiced the confidence in the wisdom of the Iranian leadership in dealing with such provocations.
