Consultative meeting held Sanaa to develop agricultural sector development

SANAA, July 22 (YPA) – A consultative meeting was held Sanaa to activate and develop aspects of agricultural sector in Tihami coastal plain.

At the meeting, included officials of the General Corporation for Cereal Development and Production and the General Authority for the Development of Tihami, discussed the coordination mechanism in related to activating and encouraging all of agricultural aspects for in order to achieve food security and self-sufficiency.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Al-Khaled, the executive director of the General Corporation for Grain Development and Production, pointed out that the meeting provided an opportunity to take advantage of the experiences and capabilities of the institution and the authority to raise the agricultural production and encourage farmers, as well as to expand in the agriculture to achieve the Foundation’s goals in developing and producing local grains.

The meeting affirmed Tihami area is the food basket of Yemen and has the agricultural ingredients of fertile lands and factors to necessitates the various state institutions and bodies to use them to achieve food security and self-sufficiency in the various requirements of the agricultural production.
