SANAA, May 13 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf discussed on Sunday with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Sanaa, Lise Grande, UN efforts to alleviate the humanitarian disaster in Yemen as a result of the aggression war and siege.
The meeting dealt with the efforts exerted to reach a mechanism to pay the salaries of state employees and reopen Sana’a International Airport for civil and commercial flights.
The officials stressed the importance of allowing the entry of commercial ships loaded with various goods and foodstuffs through Hodaida port to meet the needs of more than 80 per cent of citizens.
In the meeting, Sharaf condemned the Saudi-led coalition’s attack on a Turkish merchant ship loaded with about 49,000 tons of wheat on Thursday, considering it an aggressive action aimed at increasing the suffering of Yemeni people.
