3.9 magnitude earthquake hits southern Turkey

SANAA,July 18 (YPA) – An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale struck the state of Kahramanmaraş, in southern Turkey.

This came according to a statement published by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, on its website.

The statement indicated that the earthquake occurred in André district, at exactly 6:00 am on Saturday, local time (21.36 GMT).

The statement also indicated that the earthquake occurred 15.82 km below the surface of the earth.

This did not make any statement from the authorities about the occurrence of any material or human losses as a result.
