FM discusses with Iranian counterpart int’l efforts to end aggression

SANAA, July 14 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Tuesday discussed with Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Muhammad Javad Zarif, via closed-circuit television, the international efforts to end the aggression and blockade imposed on Yemen.

Sharaf expressed the appreciation of the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government for Iran’s position rejecting the aggression and the blockade imposed on Yemen, and for Tehran’s repeated calls for the resumption of political dialogue to reach a peaceful solution.

For his part, the Iranian Foreign Minister confirmed his country’s support for peace efforts, noting that Tehran stresses on the necessity of ending the military operations to ensure the flow of humanitarian aid the Yemeni people need, especially in light of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides emphasized the importance of strengthening Yemeni-Iranian relations, in a manner that serves the common interests of the two brotherly countries.
