SANAA, June 30 (YPA) – President Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela announced Monday evening that the head of the European Union mission in Caracas must leave Venezuela within 72 hours, as the bloc imposes new sanctions on his country.
Earlier yesterday, the Council of the European Union included 11 Venezuelan officials on the sanctions list, accusing them of “undermining democracy and the rule of law” in Venezuela.
A council statement noted that the sanctions include asset freezes and travel bans to EU countries.
He added that the sanctions affect certain personalities and do not affect the population of Venezuela in general.
