Gunmen attack military commander loyal to Hadi in Shabwah

SHABWAH, June 28 (YPA) – Unknow gunmen targeted a military commander loyal to Saudi-backed government in Shabwah province in southern Yemen on Sunday, local sources said.

According to the sources, the gunmen attacked the convoy of the commander Lashqam Abed Rabbo Hudaij al-Awlaki while he was on his way to Nassab district.

Al-Awlaki’s escorts exchanged fire with the attackers, one of the sources said without giving further details casualties.

It is believed that the gunmen belonging to the UAE-backed Southern  transitional Council  militants.
