SANAA, June 25 (YPA) – Lebanese political analyst Mahmoud Alloush said that the Israelis are interested in what is going on in the occupied provinces of southern Yemen for several reasons.
The most important of which is the sensitive geographical location of this area, and because it overlooks the Red Sea, he added.
He also pointed out that the Zionist entity considers its presence there as important whether this presence is declared or not.
Alloush was quoted by Gulf Online as saying that the UAE has a prominent role in the relationship between the so-called Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Israel.
Alloush noted that there appears to be a trend within the Southern Transitional Council to open up to Israel.
According to Alloush, some separatists’ leaders aspire to Israel’s help to realize the dream of secession and believe that such a relationship could help them push decision makers in Washington and Western capitals to support their project.”
“The Israelis have already expressed their support for the project of independence of Iraqi Kurdistan, and of course they will not oppose the secession of southern Yemen from the north, which is very much in line with their vision of the Middle East that they are looking for,” the Arab political analyst concluded.
