Leading sheikh reveals reasons for fall of Socotra in UAE hands

SANAA, June 25 (YPA) – Sheikh Issa bin Salem bin Yaqout on Thursday said the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias’ control on Socotra archipelago province came as a result of the purchase of loyalties of military commanders in some camps of Islah Party.

The UAE summoned a group of Socotra officers to Abu Dhabi months before controlling the archipelago and persuaded them to change their loyalties, bin Yaqout added.

He said that “Hadi’s government and its parliament” have insulted themselves by weakening their positions on recent developments, noting that “Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi did not appear to Yemenis and they do not know what happened to him.”

In this context, Sheikh bin Yaqout affirmed that the Yemenis no longer have any confidence in the Saudi-Emirati coalition. He appealed to all Yemenis to work to expel Saudi and Emirati forces from Yemen.
