Agriculture Ministry implements campaign to combat desert locust

SANAA, June 25 (YPA) – The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, in cooperation with FAO, implemented on Thursday a field campaign to combat the desert locust in the locust summer breeding areas in the districts of Jawf and Marib provinces.

The 20-day campaign aims to carry out specialized pesticide spraying operations to control locust insects which appeared in high intensity in most summer breeding areas in Marib and Jawf after hatching eggs and provided appropriate environmental conditions such as humidity, torrential rain and green vegetation.
