HODEIDAH, June 22 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutawakkil on Monday said the ministry informed the United Nations that the oxygen factories had partially stopped, and the babies’ incubators are about to stop due to lack of fuel.
This came during the opening of the isolation center in Al-Thawra Hospital in the city of Hodeidah.
“Yemen stands today before a crime that Saudi-led coalition responsible for by holding of the fuel ships, and the United Nations by its silence,” Dr. al-Mutawakkil said.
He indicated that the civilian casualties in the coalition-besieged al-Durayhimi district reached 284 martyrs and wounded, including 69 children martyrs, within two years, while the United Nations continues to abandon its international and humanitarian responsibility to relief the district and lift the siege on it.
“On the second anniversary of the siege of al-Durayhimi, we remember the crime of al-Kuai village, where the aggression coalition killed 18 children, some of whom were fetuses in the wombs of their mothers,” the Health Minister said.
Dr. al-Mutawakkil pointed out that the only hospital in al-Durayhimi was destroyed by the aggression coalition warplanes in the first days of the siege and ambulances were bombed, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of trapped civilians.
He appreciated the steadfastness of the medical staff in Hodeidah province in performing their duty in confronting Corona epidemic, despite the suffering, the interruption of salaries, the coalition violations.
