Deputy PM: Other party obstructs Sweden agreement in Hodeidah

SANAA, June 22 (YPA) – Deputy Prime Minister Jalal al-Ruwaishan said on Monday that the other party loyal to the Saudi-led coalition has exerted efforts to obstruct the UN-brokered Sweden agreement in Hodeidah.

Al-Ruwaishan told Al-Masirah TV channel that the national side has made great effort with the UN mission to reach peace since the signing of the Sweden agreement, but the obstruction of the coalition still exists.

Regarding a recent statement of the UN envoy on the coalition’s military escalation in Yemen, al-Ruwaishan said. “The statement is unfortunate , stressing that it does not change the facts on the ground, and will be a hindrance to proposed solutions.”

“The UN envoy should know that he represents the United Nations’eye and must convey the truth without division, and is representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Yemen not in Marib,”he added.

Commenting on the UN lifting the coalition from the list of the violators of children’s rights in Yemen, Al-Ruwaishan stressed that the decision is a major tragedy, which is the last thing that the Yemenis expected from the United Nations.
