Pakistan accuses India of killing four civilians in Kashmir region

SANAA, June 18 (YPA) – Pakistan has directly accused India of violating the ceasefire in the disputed Kashmir region, killing four civilians.

Spokesperson Pakistan Armed Forces. Major General Babar Iftikhar said on Twitter: Indian Army troops initiated unprovoked CFV in Nikial and Bagsar Sectors along along the Line of Control and have targeted the civilian population. Four innocent civilians were killed, including one woman, and another civilian was wounded.”

He noted that the Pakistani army “effectively responded to Indian fire.”

The situation between India and Pakistan was tense after August 5, 2019, after New Delhi announced its decision to abolish the self-rule system of Jammu and Kashmir, making them two federal provinces (administrative units with fewer rights than the state).

So, the Indian Parliament repealed Article 370 of the Constitution, which gave the state special status. Pakistan, which asserts that the Indian part of Kashmir belongs to it, strongly condemned this decision.
