Pro-coalition military commander assassinated in Taiz

TAIZ, June 16 (YPA) – A military commander of militias loyal to Saudi-led coalition forces was killed on Tuesday by his personal companion in the city of Taiz, southwest Yemen.

Sources told Yemen Press Agency that the Salafi leader in militias of “Abu al-Abbas battalions” Sadiq Abu al-Sadouq was shot dead by his personal escort in front of Al-Safwa Hospital in al-Taiziyah district of Taiz province.

Abu al-Sadouq had came to Taiz city in order to pay the salaries of recruits, suspended by the Islah party, according to the sources.

The sources pointed out that gunmen affiliated with the radical leader in Islah, Yahya al-Raymi stormed the house of the killer and executed him in front of his family.

While supporters of the “Abu al-Abbas battalions” held the Islah party responsible for the liquidation of Abu al-Sadouq, the party’s media circulated on social media news that Abu al-Sadouq defected from the battalions and came to the city to declare allegiance to the Islah party, holding the UAE responsible for its liquidation.
