SANAA, June 7 (YPA) – Clashes erupted on Saturday night, as Palestinian youths confronted an attack by settlers on the town of Asira al-Qibliya, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank.
Palestinian sources reported that a group of settlers of the “Yitzhar” settlement were located near the homes of the citizens in Al-Haret El-Fawqa, accompanied by the settlement’s guards.
The sources added that the citizens confronted the settlers, before the enemy forces came and fired metal bullets and sound and gas bombs at the citizens.
In a related context, a number of Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated metal bullets and dozens of suffocation cases as a result of the suppression of the anti-settlement demonstration by the Zionist enemy forces, and in rejection of the annexation decisions and to commemorate the setback.
Witnesses reported the rain of the Zionist forces participating in the march that started from the vicinity of the Omar Bin Al-Khattab Mosque towards the gate that the occupation has closed for 17 years, with gas bombs and fired live and metal bullets towards the young men who responded by throwing stones and empty bottles.
They indicated that the enemy soldiers deliberately targeted houses with gas canisters, which resulted in suffocation of a number of citizens.
