Yemen parliament member: UN aid fuels conflict amongst factions and parties in Yemen

ADEN, June 6 (YPA) – A Member of Yemen’s parliament from southern Yemen  has accused the United Nations and its declared aid of fueling conflicting factions and parties in Yemen, as it did with Somalia, in order to replicate its model.

Yemeni MP Dr. Abdul Rahman al-Wali, in a tweet, likened the UN aid to Yemen with the aid that Hillary Clinton once provided to Somalia.

“UN aid is very similar to what happened one day when Hillary Clinton reported to the Congress that they helped Somalia with $300 million,” he said.

“An American journalist of Somali origin wrote at the time that they had already given this money, but in the form of a weapon to three factions fighting each othors. they gave it to the Somalis to die and not to live,” he added.

According to the al-Wali’s tweet, he accused the United Nations of feeding conflicting factions and parties in Yemen, through their support for Yemen, which is suffering from a coup d’état and internal conflict.

The tweet came in response to a donors’ conference in Riyadh on Tuesday to fund what the United Nations calls the “urgent humanitarian response plan in Yemen.”
