SOCOTRA, May 31 (YPA) – Dozens of residents on Socotra island on Sunday blocked the highway leading to the island’s capital, Hadiboh, local sources said.
According to the sources, protesters blocked the road to the Mori area and prevented the passage of military vehicles belonging to the Saudi occupation from the area.
The sources said that citizens demanded the release of medicines to Mohammed Suleiman Saeed, who is lying in Khalifa Hospital, after a tragic accident that led to the removal of the spleen.
The sources pointed out that the residents of Qadhab region promised the commander of the Forces of Duty 808 Saudi Abdulrahman bin Suleiman al-Hajji, with angry protests if the medicine is not provided to the patient.
Socotra Island hospitals are suffering from a lack of medicines and the deterioration of various basic services, amid the military conflict between the UAE-backed militias and the Islah Party.
