19 Takfiris killed in Egyptian army operations in North Sinai
SANAA, May 31 (YPA) – Egyptian army announced on Sunday the killing of twenty takfiris, including three very dangerous elements, following two specific military operations in North Sinai.
The General Command of the Egyptian Armed Forces said in a statement that members of the armed forces carried out two specific operations that resulted in the “killing of three high-risk takfiri individuals, who were found in possession of machine guns, hand grenades and RPGs.”
The statement pointed out that the elements of the military engineers discovered and destroyed five explosive devices that were placed to target the armed forces on the axes of movement.
The statement pointed out that the Egyptian Air Force targeted concentrations of Takfiri elements with a number of foci, resulting in the killing of 16 Takfiri elements and targeting two four-wheel drive vehicles and a warehouse containing a large amount of explosive devices and logistical support for these groups.
The Egyptian army statement mentioned that the military operations also resulted in the death and injury of two officers, a non-commissioned officer and two soldiers.
