STC’s brigade commander killed in Abyan

ABYAN, May 19 (YPA) – A commander of a brigade of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia in Abyan province, southern Yemen, was killed on Monday.

Informed sources said that Ali Abdullah Shaya (Abu Amer), commander of the so-called “12th commandos brigade” was killed in clashes with Islah Party’s militants in north of Zinjbar city, the province’s capital.

Earlier in the day, the confrontations between the STC militias and the Islah militants have renewed intensively in Abyan province since the first announced the autonomy in the southern areas.
