Yemen’s FM warns against Saudi authorities of deporting African immigrants to Yemen

SANAA, May 13 (YPA) – Foreign Minister, Hisham Sharaf warned on Wednesday against the irresponsible and illegal efforts by Saudi authorities in deporting African immigrants to Yemen.

During his meeting with World Health Organisation’s Yemen representative, Altaf Musani, the two sides discussed efforts exerted by WHO organization in combating COVID-19 in Yemen.

At the meeting, the minister stressed the importance to play a role by a role by the WHO in in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to provide the necessary medical devices, solutions and other supplies to confront Corona, including the necessary needs for quarantine at the level of cities and major hospitals or border crossings.

Sharaf pointed to the need for coordination between his ministry and the United Nations to take advantage of the funds allocated and approved by the World Bank to counter the corona virus in Yemen.

Musani reviewed developments in the Covid-19 pandemic and preventive measures taken at the international and local levels in the fight of the epidemic.

The Minister Sharaf reaffirmed the National Salvation Government’s keenness on providing all necessary facilities to the WHO and its staff operating in country.
