SANAA, May 9 (Saba) – The Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs on Friday said that Saudi Arabia has deported 800 Somalis to Yemen across borders of Jawf province.
The Council explained, in a statement, that the deported Somalis are quarantined in al-Hazm city of Jawf province, and that their number is large and there are no possibilities to cover the expenses of the quarantine center.
The Council pointed out that the UNHCR was addressed about the Somali deportees in order to bear its responsibility towards them, but unfortunately it did not respond.
In this regard, the Council expressed its hope for a UN response through a speedy intervention to save this large number of Somalis in accordance with UN and international humanitarian laws.
