1,110 prisoners released during March, April in Ibb

IBB, May 7 (YPA) – The Public Prosecution of Ibb province during March and April released 1,110 prisoners from those who spent three quarters of the prison period in serious cases and half the period in non-serious cases, as well as those under investigation.

Head of the Appeals Prosecutor Judge Dr. Marwan al-Mahaqri confirmed that the number of prisoners released from various procuratorates in the province during the month of April reached 524 prisoners, and 586 prisoners were released during March.

Dr. al-Mahaqri explained that the releases would continue until the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

These releases came after prison inspections and investigation of the conditions of prisoners eligible for release, and in implementation of the directives of the political leadership represented by President Mahdi al-Mashat, and as a precautionary measure to confront Corona epidemic, he added.
