3 Indian soldiers killed in clash with militants in Kashmir
SANAA, May 5 (YPA) – Three Indian soldiers were killed in a clash with militants in the disputed Kashmir region between India and Pakistan in the Himalayas.
Reuters reported that three Indian soldiers were killed on Monday in fighting with armed groups in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir.
Junaid Khan, a senior security forces officer, was quoted by the agency as saying that gunmen attacked the Central Reserve Police Force in northern Kashmir.
He added that “three were killed by the police reserve force, and another (fourth) was seriously wounded.”
Five Indian soldiers were killed on Sunday, including a senior army officer in a forested area in northern Kashmir during an operation against a group of militants, two of whom were killed later.
India accuses its neighbor, Pakistan, of financing armed groups which are strongly opposed to its rule, which Islamabad denies.
