STC’s declaration of autonomy in Aden is attempt to quell uprising against corruption: Southern Movement
ADEN, April 27 (YPA) – The Southern Peaceful Movement known as “al-Hirak al-Janoubi” in Aden city considered the announcement of autonomy in Aden city by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) is an attempt to quell the Aden uprising against corruption.
The Movement affirmed in a statement that the declaration of the state of emergency by the STC in Aden did not understand the size and meaning of responsibility towards the danger of the situation, and aimed at enhancing corruption away from the institutional building of the state.
The statement pointed out that all successive and artificial crises led to the spread of corruption and making of chaos that helped deteriorate the services of electricity and water networks, and the spread of epidemics.
The Movement accused the “STC” of exploiting the suffering of people under false pretexts, stressing the need to reconsider the presence of regionalism’s militias.
