Deputy PM chairs meeting to discuss torrents-caused damage in Rayma

SANAA, April 26 (YPA) – Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs Dr. Hussein Maqbouli on Sunday chaired a meeting in the capital Sanaa to discuss the volume of material and human damages that occurred in Rayma province due to the flow of torrents in the governorate.

Governor of Rayma province Faris al-Habari presented a report on the damage caused to citizens’ homes and agricultural properties due to the fall of heavy rains on most of the province’s districts.

The governor affirmed the need for the full support for the repair and maintenance of roads, and to find effective solutions to address the rockslides that directly harm citizens.

In this regard, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Road Maintenance Fund Nabil al-Haifi was assigned to inspect the places of damage and prepare an integrated report that includes the necessary treatments for the problem of rock slides and the damage to the roads and buildings of citizens.

At the meeting, Dr. Maqbouli urged the leadership of the local authority in the province to speedy response to disasters caused by the rain torrents and rockslides, as the governorate is characterized by a mountainous and rugged nature.

He instructed the competent authorities to conduct studies to establish an early warning project to notify and warn citizens before the danger occurred.

Dr. Makbouli stressed the need to pay attention to implementing precautionary measures to confront the Corona epidemic, as well as adhering to the instructions and directives of the Higher Ministerial Committee for Epidemics Control.
