Al-Houthi announces locally-made artificial respirators

SANAA, April 22 (YPA) – Leading figure of the Supreme Political Council, revealed that artificial respirators have been locally-made, as part of precautionary measures and preparations to counter the new coronavirus (Covid-19).

“Thanks to God, some ventilators have been put on the test in a Yemeni industry,” Mohammed al-Houthi said in a tweet at midnight Tuesday.

“We hope that the Ministry of Health will soon announce the success of the tests” for locally-made devices.

The announcement of the manufacture of artificial respirators reinforces the announcement of the minister of health in the national salvation government Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakkil in his briefing to the House of Representatives on efforts to fight the epidemic. The start of work on the production of homemade ventilators.

“The 200 ventilators that existed inside Yemen have increased to 400 in less than two weeks,” al-Mutawakel said in his briefing, adding “Yemen needs at least 1,000 devices.”

Al-Houthi attributed this achievement to the challenge of the blockade.

He said:  Overcoming the blockade is what is pulling the Yemeni people towards more achievements in the field of industrialization, a goal that will continue to build a scientific that will benefit from all experiences towards development in various fields.”

In a second tweet, at midnight Tuesday, Mohammed al-Houthi said in a statement on the merits of Yemen’s new industrial achievement, saying, “The Yemenis are industrialists since the beginning of history, and they have the ability and competence to innovate.”
