PM calls on humanitarian system to support national effort to confront Corona

SANAA, April 15 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Wednesday called on the international humanitarian organizations working in Yemen to contribute to supporting the national effort exerted to confront any emergency related to the Corona pandemic.

This came during his meeting in Sanaa with the United Nations Resident Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator Lise Grande.

The meeting discussed ways to support the basic institutional frameworks that are directly related to combating and confronting the Corona virus in case of its emergence, especially the ministries of health and water, in light of the exceptional situation the country is going through due to the continued aggression and blockade.

The meeting focused on the joint role of the government and the United Nations represented by the International Organization for Migration in returning illegal immigrants from the Horn of Africa to their countries, as a precautionary and emergency measure imposed by the Corona pandemic, as well as the nature of the security situation in Yemen.
