Deputy PM discusses with ICRC delegation cooperation aspects

SANAA, April 13 (YPA) – Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Dr. Hussein Maqbouli on Monday discussed with Head of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC)’s delegation to Yemen Franz Rauchenstein the cooperation aspects between Yemen and ICRC in humanitarian fields.

The meeting dealt with the possibility of the ICRC’s support for the government’s efforts in its precautionary measures to confront Corona epidemic.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the humanitarian field and develop mechanisms for joint action to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, as well as ways to develop mechanisms for joint action to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

In the meeting, Dr. Maqbouli affirmed the government’s readiness to facilitate the work of the ICRC delegation in Yemen through the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation.

Rauchenstein expressed the ICRC delegation’s readiness to provide humanitarian assistance, assess needs of the quarantine centers in the outlets, and communicate with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to coordinate regarding African refugees.
