FM discusses with UN official precautionary measures to confront Corona virus

SANAA, April 1 (YPA) – Yemen’s Foreign Minister, Hisham Sharaf Abdullah discussed on Wednesday with the UN official the precautionary measures implemented by the National Salvation Government to confront the Corona virus.

During his meeting with Lise Grande, the Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, the minister urged the United Nations to cooperate to provide urgent medical and preventive assistance, including providing for the needs for quarantine places.

At the meeting, Sharaf handed over Lise Grande two urgent written letters, to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, regarding the continued aggression and preventing ships loaded with oil derivations from entry to Hodeidah port.

The minister called on the United Nations to exert its endeavors in countries hosting Yemeni nationals, to take the necessary measures to stop traveling across its borders, for taking precautionary measures to confront the epidemic.
