Police arrest gang smuggling hashish inside gas cylinders in Sanaa

SANAA, March 28 (YPA) – Wadi Ahmed Police Station in Bani al-Harith district in the capital Sanaa on Saturday arrested a gang consisting of man and a woman, both Ethiopians, and a 13-year-old Yemeni juvenile while smuggling two gas cylinders filled with hashish.

The gang members were arrested while trying to send the gas cylinders with a taxi car driver at Amran round to Saada province, the police station said.

The police officers were able to discover the presence of a quantity of cannabis weighing 12 kilo grams (six kilogram inside each of cylinder).

It was found that the gang members cut each gas cylinder from the bottom and put the hashish inside it and then welded it, according to the police station.

The seizures and the defendants were referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
