Epidemic Control Committee: Saudi Arabia intends to return 2000 pilgrims to Yemen
SANAA, March 27 (YPA) – A spokesman for the technical committee for combating epidemics, Dr. “Abdul Hakim Al-Kohlani” said on Friday that the committee formed additional committees to coordinate, arrange and provide the necessary services to receive the large numbers of expatriates.
Al-Kohlani stressed that the arrivals from abroad exceeded four thousand people as a result of increasing trips from the land ports and airports under the control of the occupation, as Saudi Arabia intends to return approximately two thousand Yemeni pilgrims in addition to its desire to intensify flights while closing its ports and airspace.
Al-Kohlani added, “We are working to accommodate the numbers coming from abroad and provide them with the necessary services in quarantine centers, and that the role of the international organizations is negligible to support efforts to prevent the transmission of the Corona epidemic to Yemen despite the humanitarian tragedy the country is affirming, stressing that the groups Formed to address the situation in the Hajar centers are local committees with local support and funding.
He added, “We prepared a plan with the Prisoners’ Affairs Committee and in coordination with the Ministry of Health to prevent the transmission of the Corona virus from mercenaries on the fronts and that any mercenary who will be captured will be subject to the same procedures as institutional quarantine and everyone will be monitored. ”
