SANAA, May 4 (YPA) – The latest data showed 13.8 million people in Yemen could be hit by cholera epidemics during the summer season associated with rainfall, “The Lancet Global Health” medical journal reported.
Experts on the epidemic said that the data of the previous season of cholera outbreaks in the country indicate that the epidemic could spread to the country to include (45%) from the regions of Yemen.
The Group of experts called on the Yemeni authorities and the international community to make the necessary preparations to meet the potential for the future outbreak of the epidemic, through vaccination campaigns, distribution of materials for water purification and rehabilitation of the infrastructures of the sanitation system.
