Syrian air defenses confront hostile missiles at Hmeimim Airbase in Syria

SANAA, March 24 (YPA) – A military source in Syria Arab Army confirmed on Monday evening that the air defenses were able to confront hostile missiles tried to target the Hmeimim airbase

“Air defenses responded to some drones were flying over The Hmeimim Base in Jabala,” SANA News Agency reported .

According to the military source, the Russian air defenses intercepted the hostile projectiles before they could hit the airbase, in the Syrian province of Latakia, destroying three aircraft drones.

The source in Latakia said that the air defenses responsible for protecting the “Hmeimim” military base targeted several missiles hostile targets in the air, after trying to approach the perimeter of the base from the north.

According to the source, the targets that were completely destroyed are three marching aircraft that tried to approach the base from areas, which are under the control of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) and the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP).

He confirmed that some orange plantations had been slightly damaged in the places where the destroyed aircraft had landed.
