STC declares military preparedness in Abyan

ABYAN, March 23 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) declared on Monday a military preparedness to confront the Saudi-supported Islah Party militants in Abyan province, sources said.

The sources affirmed that the STC militias pledged to fight and expel the Islah militants from three districts of Modaih, al-Wadia and Lawdar.

Meanwhile, Islah Party has continued to send military reinforcements, from Marib, Shabwa and Hadramawt, to its camps in the coastal area of Shakra in Abayn province, in attempts to retake over the STC-held areas.
