HAJJAH, March 16 (YPA) – The Bureau of Industry and Commerce in Hajjah governorate seized a variety of expired food items and closed four bakeries as part of the field visit to control the markets and consumer protection.
Mahmoud Wahban, director of the provincial industry office, said a joint committee of industry, security, works, environment and consumer protection destroyed half a ton of expired materials after they were seized in a shop in Hajjah.
He noted that the control team closed four bakeries in violation of the weights specified in the regulations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
He also pointed out that the process of the monitoring markets and inspecting the sales centers are continuing to check the list of prices and the validity of the products.
According to the Director of the Bureau of Industry, the control teams have achieved success during the past period in controlling violations, correcting price imbalances and confiscating expired materials to protect consumers from their damages.
The director praised the cooperation of the provincial leadership, the security services and the relevant authorities.
He called on traders to comply with the Ministry of Industry’s regulations on the publicity of price lists and the quality of goods and products.
