Hadi government sends military reinforcements to Abyan

ABYAN, March 15 (YPA) –  Military sources revealed that Saudi-led coalition-backed government pushed more reinforcements to Shaqra district in Abyan province, amid tensions with the UAE-Backed southern Transitional Council.

According to the sources, the forces came from Shabwah, in the form of groups, and that the  Hadi government plans to take full control over Lawdar,  Mudiyah, al-Mahfad Districts and al- Wadhea area in Abyan province as an initial stage leading to the control of the city of Zinjibar District to secure control of Aden.

Tensions between Hadi forces and the STC militisa  rose after his forces refused hand over Aden airport  to Saudi-trained security forces.

The Southern Transitional Council held an emergency and closed meeting to discuss the response procedures amid a general alert, but it came out with no result other than to demand clarification from Saudi Arabia ban on its leaders from returning to Aden.
