UN envoy for Yemen reviews imaginary international initiatives in Security Council
SANAA, March 12 (YPA) -, the UN’s envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths on Thursday briefed the UN Security Council on the recent situation in Yemen, reviewing imaginary international initiatives as usual, according to observers.
During his briefing, Griffiths said that the military escalation in Jawf and Marib province would enter Yemen to the focal point of a new conflict threatening political efforts to resolve the crisis, calling to stop.
Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition and its mercenaries were public, and defiant of Griffiths’s decisions and the international community, which called for a de-escalation, went to the negotiating table and a political solution.
Separately, the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa led by Mahdi Al-Mashat, presented a peace initiative to achieve peace before the battle of Jawf and Marib, but the coalition and its mercenaries dealt with initiative the indifferently, and reviewed its forces backed by the fighter jets to attack the capital Sanaa.
On the other hands, Griffiths demanded the conflicting parties to be restrained ,especially the battles in Jawf would lead Yemen to a new circle of conflict, because of Yemen is passing at a critical juncture, and everyone has to carry a responsibility to reduce escalation or continue to commit more violence.
” It appears that the UN envoy does not feel the danger unless the Yemeni army and popular forces achieved remarkable and great triumphs in their battles against the occupation and the Saudi aggression that bombed hospitals, roads, schools, markets, and mourning and wedding halls in Yemeni provinces, which are controlled by the supreme political council in Sanaa, with international forbidden weapons revealed by international human rights organizations.
What did Griffith want from the Yemeni political council and Yemeni armed forces to wait at the entrances to the capital for welcome the coalition forces?!.
In his briefings, Griffiths has always ignored the thousands of civilian have been killed and wounded by the coalition’s fighter jets, in an attempt to narrow the picture of the humanitarian suffering inside the targeted provinces of Sanaa, Saada, Hajjah, and Hodeidah, as well as other areas were destroyed by the aggression coalition with its massive arsenal.

Moreover, Griffith did not forget to refer to the issue of opening Sanaa International Airport, and touched on the issue of opening roads in the provinces of Taiz, Marib, and Hodeidah… That was good, especially those the issues would built confidence between all parties and move the humanitarian file.

Finally, the UN envoy stressed the need to contain the current escalation path in Yemen, and demanded that the parties defuse the tension, calling to accept a participation in a monitorable tension-ending mechanism.” But observers challenge him to ensure that the aggression forces would adhere to the mechanism to end the tension and escalation.
As for “glimmers of hope” that Griffiths said he discussed with Yemeni parties, describing them as positive step, yet observers believed that the UN envoy uses the loose phrases of looseness to inform the international community, and the Yemeni people with positive progress in an complex file.
Observers told “Yemeni Press Agency” they have accused Martin Griffiths of defrauding the international community, using opportunism to fight the of the Yemenis’ pain, working hard to prolong the brutal and aggressive war on Yemen.
