Southern detainees’ mothers protest in front of coalition forces headquarters in Aden

ADEN, March 9 (YPA) – The Association of Mothers of Southern Detainees in the prisons of the UAE occupation on Monday staged a protest in front of Saudi-led coalition forces headquarters in the occupied Aden province, southern Yemen.

This came after the coalition concealed the results of the investigation into the case of disappeared persons, threatening to crush the mothers of the abductees with tanks.

During the protest, the mothers of detainees demanded the release of their kidnapped sons and the disclosure of their places of detention.

Local sources confirmed that a Saudi officer, with the rank of colonel named “Abu Sultan”, had formed a special committee on the sixth of last February to investigate the issue of forcibly disappeared persons and to work to reveal their fate.

But the Saudi officer himself, whom the mothers of the disappeared people did not know his name or position In the coalition forces, made a strong-worded threat to the mothers, who participated in a protest in front of the coalition headquarters in Aden last February,  according to the sources.

Commander of the coalition forces, Brigadier “Mujahid al-Autibi” in Aden province, denied his knowledge at the end of last October that there were any hidden persons in Aden prisons since receiving his mission, succeeding the Emirati commander after the UAE announced its withdrawal.
